Do you know who invented the Barbie doll? Ruth Handler, one of the co founders of Mattel, invented the Barbie doll in 1959. She was named after her daughter Barbara and was introduced in a toy fair in New York City. Barbie dolls have since become the most loved dolls all over the world.
So much that there are all kinds of Barbie toys like cars and horses, houses and patios to go with her. In fact Barbie has a whole Barbie happy family. There is skipper her sister who was born in 1964, and The twins, Tutti and Todd who were born in 1966. Then there was Stacie who was born in 1992, and finally Kelly in 1995. Later different barbies were created for the different disney movies or special showsw. For example the barbie of swan lake came out as a representation of the ballet swan lake.
