If you liked your language and composition teacher and homework chances are you make a good writer. What about spending a lot of time reading and in libraries or Internet looking for information, do you like the sound of that? You can set off your writing career by entering a writing contest.
Technical writing is a growing and lucrative branch of writing. You have to be creative but more so accurate and knowledgeable about the subject. Good technical writers are curious or have some qualification in the subject that they are writing about. For example an engineering graduate is well suited to write technical articles on engineering but only if he is creative and patient enough and able to think as the man on the street.
Good writers are in demand for other projects like speech writing and as advisors for any writing projects. Writing a book can fetch one lots of cash if you can predict which subject will catch the public eye, be creative and research your subject well.
For less complex writing tasks you can find many sites and with tips on how to write a resume, writing a cover letter or even on how write a book.
