Wow what a game. WOW stands for World of Warcraft. My main character is a hunter and she is powerful. She has the best of everything. What am I talking about? Let me tell you. World of Warcraft is an action packed, interactive online game.
World of Warcraft, or WOW as regular players call it, takes place in a 3 dimensional representation of the Warcraft universe that players can interact with through their characters. The game world features three continents on the world of Azeroth and a separate planet know as Draenor, original home of the Orc and Draenei races, now referred to as Outland. In this game world, players use their characters to explore locations, defeat creatures and complete quests, among other activities like blacksmithing and mining.
Created by Blizzard Entertainment, you start by setting up a WOW account and begin building your character from that point. From there, you can choose to play your character on your own, players can also group up with others in order to take on more challenging content. In this way, character classes are used in specific roles within a group.
You can then begin questing. These quests or tasks, are usually available from non-player characters. Quests usually reward the player with experience points, items, and/or in game money. As you gain experience, your character levels up, starting at level one. You become more powerful from one WOW level to the next. So a level 15 character has more abilities than a level one character. You can also play WOW in a player-versus-player (PVP) realm. WOW PVP realms allow open combat among players.
WOW has a wide variety of forums and guides online. WOW forums crop up all the time as well as WOW guides. They are useful when you have quests that are difficult to follow, or have issues with in-game play. They give instructions on how to resolve various issues, and directions to certain areas your character may be trying to get to. A good WOW guide will also display maps for directions to treasure or special creatures that can be killed and specialty treasure gained. There are also sites that offer WOW gold for real money where you can use PayPal or your credit card. Blizzard Entertainment does not endorse these sites, but they are widely available.
In the United States, Canada and Europe, Blizzard Entertainment distributes World of Warcraft in retail software packages. The software package usually includes 30 days of game play for no additional cost. WOW U.S. and WOW Europe have video stores that commonly stock the trial version of World of Warcraft in DVD form, which include the game and 14 days of game play, after which you can choose to upgrade. I like WOW because it offers me the chance to have interactive game play in another world.
It’s a great, fun and easy way to entertain the kids also. Enjoy!
