Remember the old western movies? What has happened to the westerns? The first western movie was made in 1905 by the Thomas Edison company. But, have you seen any good westerns made lately? There doesn´t appear to have been a good western movie since the mid 90´s. So what has happened?
Hollywood seems to have forgotten about the good old country and western movie. The real cowboys are also dissapearing. Most people don't even know what a western saddle is anymore, much less how to ride a horse. A person wearing western boots is almost considered a strange being unless he's in Texas of course. It will always be popular in Texas! Western boots have lost their lustre, now they are considered to be only cowboy boots used by cowboys, who don't exist anymore. Western stores can't sell western clothing as work clothing anymore, because there aren't anymore real cowboys, and they can't sell western wear as a fashion trend, because its out of style.
What will happen to all the western wear stores? Will western wear become a thing of the past? Will the cowboy truly disappear? It would truly be a shame if that happened.

The lights give a neat effect during the rain storm in Chicago, Illinois on August 4, 2008. This is recorded on a CTA train between the Montrose and Damen stop (although Western is being announced, cuz Damen is currently closed for construction)
