If we start looking at it on a comparable note, we get an insight of online marketing necessities, changing with trend and time. And this is how the ecommerce works – the backbone of online retailing.

Web 2.0 - the initiator of blogs, social networking and other virtual interactions, is a user driven intent which is gradually being transformed or has already been transformed into a dedicated platform of ecommerce. No doubt, the web 2.0 phenomenon was envisaged to meet the online marketing requirements but being more user friendly it got the instant cognizance of people across the world. People started taking it as the newest media to share news, views and comments. Soon after that it became the place for social hangouts and then – what followed was the flood of marketing concepts in the trading world of ecommerce.

Just in a quick go through – web 2.0 came into existence; blogs emerged as the most powerful tool of interaction, social networking defined virtual communication and online retailing found new horizons of internet marketing breaking all the conventional advertising and promotional tools. Welcome web 3.0!

Web 3.0 is the semantic term which will always be referred as an extension of web 2.0. Needless to say, this money friendly concept of web 3.0 is the indicator of today’s dynamic online retailing scenario. Sites like kaboodle.com which are online shopping communities make the surfers represent their own brand in front of the whole world. So, you can confidently say gone are the days when people used to describe their views and reviews by sharing comments on the blogs and other interactive platforms for dominant retailers of online domain. People now do their own retailing. But this doesn’t mean that traditional retailers will lose their hold on the online marketing. The current pace of web development and the entropy associated with internet have space for the all the e-marketers and, web3.0 will definitely try to make this retailing venture a profitable business for everyone.
