Vaccinations are the absolutely most important thing you can do for small children, and we all know this. So, it should be something you check when traveling. Make sure you visit your doctor, tell him where you are going and ask him, if he thinks you should have any additional vaccinations. The reason is that vaccinations for travel can be very different than what is required domestically. You should also check to make sure you and your children have the chicken pox vaccine as chicken pox runs rampant in third world countries and it would be terrible to be on vacation and come down with the chicken pox. The same goes for the influenza vaccination. If you are traveling to a third world country make sure everyone has the hepatitis b vaccine. This vaccine is not given in many countries and the disease runs rampant. You should also visit your vet if you are considering the idea of traveling with pets. If you decide to travel with pets you need to make sure they also have their vaccinations, and ask about the bird flu vaccine. Cat vaccination documents should travel with all of your important documentation, and the same goes for the dog vaccination.
