The United States of America is made up of fifty states. The map of the United States of America shows forty-eight of those states and the District of Colombia are in central North America and the state of Hawaii is in the pacific, and Alaska is in the northwest of the continent with Canada to the East. The stars in the United States flag represent each of the states. The United States is one of the most ethnically and socially diverse countries in the world because its society is made up of large scale united states immigration. The United States debt is not very large because it has one of the world’s larges gross domestic products will more than $13 trillion.
Although the united states society is made of many different races and has had a large influx of immigration. Today it is much harder to acquire United States citizenship. There are many types of visas that can be acquired: The tourist visa, student visa and even a work visa but citizenship is a little harder to acquire. In fact by January of 2007, any American leaving the country to any place including Canada and Mexico will need a United States passport to get back into the United States.
