Many generations can remember the crazy antics of that wild bunch, "The Flintstones". Fred & Wilma Flintstone with Barney & Betty Rubble were guaranteed to entertain for a half hour of laughs. And they shared many hours of our lives since they were aired early ams, lunch times, & of course, evenings.
Their life in prehistoric Bedrock was quite similar to modern times & they certainly got themselves into some trouble. Fred & Barney were always in trouble. Dino was their pet dinosaur & Pebbles & BamBam the little kids. It was 1/2 hour of great entertainment, produced by Hanna Barbera.
A movie was produced in 1994 & The Flintstones starred John Goodman as Fred, Rosie O'Donnell, Rick Moranis, Elizabeth Perkins & Kyle MacLaughlan. It wasn't as big a hit as the cartoon series but an interesting version of The Flintstones just the same.
Yabba Dabba Doo will always be remembered as The Flintstones from the cartoon series. Those wackey residents of Bedrock & their get rich quick ideas. Fred & Barney had an uncanny ability to get into hot water & they did it on a regular basis. And their wives, Betty & Wilma, both tried hard to understand their men!
Back in the 1980's, Hanna-Barbera, started a new series called The Flintstone Kids. It aired on ABC but did not last too long. Nothing seems to have been better than the original cartoon series.
Many games & toys were produced featuring The Flintstones. Mattel manufactured a lot of Flintstones toys back in the 1970-1980's & many packaged yet unopened can be had if one looks hard enough. A lot of toys featuring The Flintstones are highly collectible. They produced a lot of fun for a few generations & those memories live on forever!
