There are many professional sports teams in this state, including the Tennessee Football team, the "Tennessee Titans".
In the National Hockey League, this state houses the Nashville Predators, one of the strongest teams of the 2006-2007 season. They also have a team in the National Basketball Association, called the Memphis Grizzlies. There are also many Minor League Baseball teams, which are mainly constituted of high school students.
This state was admitted to the state of unions on June 1st, 1976. It is ranked sixteenth in the entire country for population, housing 5 689 283 people according to statistics made in the year 2000.
