Stories have been around since the beginning of mankind. They say that it began as a playful activity. It´s purpose to entertain the children. Later it was included in religious rituals, historical events, and for educational porposes. The oldest record that has been found in regards to story telling is that of the egyptians. When the sons of cheops the pyramid builder entertained their father with story telling.
Today, the story has culminated in the invention of the movie, the ultimate story teller. But not to long ago when people though of stories they thought of bedtime stories, romance stories, even success stories, and the bairds would entertain all the people in a keep with his stories. In his repertoire he would include of course a typical love story of the day and even an ocasional bible story. In the last two centuries those stories were read from books. parents would even read story books to their children. Unfortunatley people today don't read books as much as they used to.Today the story teller is the television or the movie, to most people this form of story telling is more intense and a lot easier to follow than that of reading.
