Several individuals are accustomed to several varying complaints related to the stomach - stomach problems. The commonest stomach problem accustomed by many individuals is gas in the stomach which is accompanied by stomach pain and bloating in the stomach. There is upset in the stomach because of the gas.

Stomach ulcers which are also known as peptic ulcers are another common affection of the stomach. Stomach ulcers affect about 4 million Americans every year and more than 40,000 Americans have surgery because of persistent symptoms or problems from ulcers every year.

This stomach ulcer is associated with stomach pain immediately after eating or after hours after eating. The other signs and stomach of stomach ulcers are nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, weight loss, bloating, abdominal fullness, waterbrash, etc. The causative factor of stomach ulcer is infection with the bacterium Helicobacter pylori. Helicobacter pylori may be transmitted from person to person through contaminated food and water. Other contributing factors of peptic ulcers are excess secretion of hydrochloric acid, genetic predisposition, psychological stress, chronic use of anti-inflammatory medications, such as aspirin, cigarette smoking, etc.

In case you are suffering from stomach ulcer than you need to follow a specific diet which may help to reduce the gastric irritation and the excess stomach acid secretion. This diet may further help in preventing uncomfortable side effects such as heartburn. You need to eat slowly and chew foods well, be relaxed at mealtime, sit up while eating and for 1 hour after eating, include good source of proteins, reduce caffeine intake, etc.

How to treat a stomach ulcer ?
I have a stomach ulcer that comes back every time. What can i do to minimize relapse because it really hurts each time? Should i avoid some foods?
After effects of antifungal?
I was advised by my doctor to use some antifungal chlotrimazole on my 3 year old daughter but of late she is having a running stomach and constant headache, could these be after effects or should i give her other drugs for this?
