I wander if Gene Roddenberry ever imagined, when he dreamed the Star Trek characters back in the sixties, that he was triggering a whole Pop culture than spanned over 40 years. The Star Trek legacy is not only the name of a video game, it's a reality, more alive than ever with the Star Trek XI movie now in the making. From the crude special effects of The Cage, the TV series pilot in 1966, to the spectaculars of the first Star Trek movie, we've all been a fan at some point in our life.
According to age we'll feel closer to Captain Kirk, or think of Worf as a close friend, for the original series blossomed with Star Trek the next generation, and kept going with Deep Space Nine and later with Star Trek enterprise.
From Star Trek the motion picture in 79 to Nemesis in 2002, we've all grown older and wiser along the various characters, while the younger generations in turn discovered the dreams.
Sometimes we will search the night sky for a shooting star, so that we can make a wish for a Star Trek world of our own, where people of all races and cultures bind together towards a meaningful goal. For that alone... thank you Mister Roddenberry.
