Since Apple introduced the first smart phone, an international demand for new smart phones has swelled to a fever pitch. To meet the growing demands from consumers hungry for their own smart phone, telecommunication and tech companies, from AT&T, to Sprint and Verizon are reaping the rewards. Apple fanatics will argue that the iPhone is the best smart phone on the market, but recent additions such as the Motorola Droid, Motorolla Cliq Titanium, the Palm smart phone- the Palm Pre, Samsung Blue Earth-the Samsung smart phone, known as the Intrepid owners will argue that their phones offer just as many applications and 3G internet browsing capabilities that are found on the iPhone. Verizon has challenged AT&T head-on with ads that mock the iPhone's limited reception compared to Verizon's national network.
One of the most important contract areas for consumers to review before they purchase a smart phone is the early termination fee. For example, AT&T requires a 2-year contract with your iPhone activation. Should you decide to discontinue the service, you'll be stuck with a fee of at least $175. T-Mobile and Verizon had an early advantage on the competition, with the first phones that were compatible with Google android open source operating system. Android allows users to access sites that iPhone users can't reach. The Verizon blackberry has evolved from a glorified pda smart phone to an iphone-like touch screen, featured on its latest models. HTC smart phone models also utilize touch screens and applications, but as Apple fans were quick to point out, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, so the debate over the original smart phone continues.
