Sleep is important for the normal functioning of our systems. Sleeping is something all human and animal need for being in good shape. And id not the same as being unconscious although in a sleep state we age not fully aware of what is going on around us. We can easily wake up from sleep as opposed to when we are unconscious. Lack of sleep can lead to confusion, slow reaction, speech difficulties and even sickness, it is no wonder it is a torture technique. Nonetheless certain people do develop sleep disorders for various reasons. It could be due to worry about money, family, relationships, jobs or medication. In some cases doctors will prescribe sleeping pills to aid in going to sleep but this are usually temporary measures. The cause normally has to be treated in order to bring back the normal sleep pattern. Sleep problems can lead to other health problems including weight gain and depression. Most people need 6 to 8 hours of sleep and children need more. A lack of sleep may get you a sleeping on the job memo as you might doze off to compensate when you are supposed to be working. So it’s very important if you cant sleep, to go see you’re doctor if you thing you might have a sleep disorder.
