All religious beliefs share the idea of a future salvation, a life after death, which is an idea we all like; nobody wants to die without any hope of happiness, and all religions of the world promise, in a way or in another, the redemption, the salvation and eternal life in peace and love. That is what promises the roman catholic religion and what offers the islam religion to the individuals which follow its philosophical paths.
The catholic church is one among several other thousands expressions of human spirituality; first it was seen as a big oddity, a religion which has just one god. Remeber that ancient greek religion and several other ancient religions had lots of gods and goddesses, and some day people prayed to one, the other to another one. Nevertheless, as time passed by, religious studies have shown that the church of Jesus is an example of polytheism as all other ancient religions are. Some catholic religious books teach children to believe in angels, in Saint Paul... and people has started to venerate these historic names as if they were other gods. The catholic rituals have addopted other names besides the name of god, and that is a sign of polytheism, even in XXIst century catholic religion.
Religion is the first way Mankind has had contact with the world. At our first times, when nothing had a name and everything had an spirit inside, as we had ours which made us breath and move, the religious sphere was the most common and reliable way to control our fate, a fate that, as history would show, can’t be controled.
