Vacationing abroad is no longer a luxury... considering the price of gas, it's probably cheaper to fly to Paris than to drive to Vancouver. Let's keep in mind that the currencies are different however, and that the euro exchange rate is not to our advantage these days.
No matter where we plan on going, it is wise to check the foreign exchange rate first, and consider that if 100 Brazilian Reals mean merely 60 CD, one hundred Euro will cost us 160 CD... just have a look for yourself on any online exchange rate calculator, you'll be surprised. it's not a bad idea either to carry a pocket size exchange rate converter, and to use it when we spot that little dress in a boutique on Rue de Rivoli... we may find out that it's not all that cheap after all.
It's important to travel smartly, to check the currency exchange rate daily and buy local money only when we're sure to get the best rate. The success of our holidays may depend on it.
