"It's time for a pupy" he said!
One day I came home from work and was greeted by a jumping, romping toddler who threw himself at me with great gust. The first thing he said was:"Mom, Mom lets go, it's time to go get a pupy." "Hold on! What are you talking about." I answered. It turned out that he had been watching a childrens movie on T.V. and decided that it was time he had a puppy. I told him that if he would sit with me for a little bit and eat his dinner, we would go down to the pet shop and look at the puppies for sale. I can't believe how excited he got. He went to the kitchen with me, sat and squirmed the whole time we were eating dinner. When I got up to wash the dishes he even offered to help, "so we can get it done faster," he said. Off we went to the pet store to see all the pupies for sale. We were in the store for hours, he looked at all the dog breeds and petted all the dogs. I even showed him the cutest shih tzu I had ever seen and he still hummed and hawed. I asked him if he wanted to go get an ice cream while he decided. While we were eating ice cream, he asked me if he could have any of the dogs he had seen and of course I said yes. We discussed the border collie we saw and the golden retriever. We talked about what dog breed was and what the different characteristics of each breed was. We finally finished our ice cream and I took him back to the pet store. I asked him; "Have you decided on which dog you want?" He shyly nodded his head; "yes mom, I've decided" So I asked him to tell me which dog he wanted, and he pointed to this little skinny puppy. It was the ugliest puppy there. When I asked him why he had chosen that one, after we had discussed so many others. He answered; "Mom he lookslike he needs the most love, and I have a lot of love to give." Guess which puppy we took home?
