Is prayer important in our lives? There are studies that show that prayer helps in the curing of serious illness. The question is: What is prayer? It appears that prayer is the ability to talk to God. Too many people think that prayer is said in a certain way or has a certain rhythm or a certain process as in the catholic prayers. They feel that if they don't know how to pray the rosary that they don't know how to pray. There are many ways to pray and the roman catholic prayer, or the catholic church prayer is not the only way to pray. You don't have to be in bible study class to pray nor do you have to do a christian prayer.
A prayer is simply your way of talking to God whether its a long flowery holy spirit prayer or a simple "Hi God, this is Tom....I need to talk to you..." kind of prayer. There are a few good reasons you should pray:
· You are conversing with God - and conversation is a part of any relationship
· Praying keeps you out of trouble - you think twice before doing something that you may not be proud of
· Prayer makes a difference - I don't know how but people who pray get circumstances in their lives to change.
