Having plants at home, besides being a great hobby, enlightens the room they are in. Indoor plants possess many benefits such as the purification of the air, release of oxygen and gardening helps your body and mind to relax. Here are some species of plants that you can have at home.

The most common house plants include violet, begonia, cactus, poinsettia, ivy, geranium and spider plants.

Indoor tropical plants include anthurium, bird of paradise, cat palm, colorama, croton, dendrobium orchid, ficus tree and mass cane.

Indoor flowering plants are azaleas, calla lily, carnations, chrysanthemums, daisy, hibiscus, hydrangea and jasmine.

Plant care is specific to the species of the plant. Plants need different types of care. Some plants need light, others humidity, etc. I would strongly suggest you to look on the Internet in order to see the specific needs your plants must have so that it lives well in your house. Cleaning the plant to prevent diseases and insects can be applied to all sorts of plants.

Finally, plants are not only for people who have talent for plant care. Everyone has the ability of growing successfully a plant and I am sure that you will love this new hobby!

Does artichoke have medicinal value?
Recently i’ve visited one of my friends house and there i saw a strange looking plant not very attractive and i asked him why he didn’t have it cut. He said that it was artichoke plant and that it had great medicinal values. Is that really true, if so do tell me what its uses are.
