There are various types of photography as wide as there are subjects. One can choose to specialise as a wedding photographer and can make lots of income from it. Portrait photography is also very popular and expensive. Fine art photography requires lots of skill and good training too and lots of talent in order to produce the best.

I got asked today if I was part of a paper because of my camera. That's twice in the past week people have thought I have a real photography job, just because I have a nice camera. I told the people no, but in my mind, again, I was thinking, "I don't have a job at a paper yet...but do you know how I can get one?"
