A phone should be a phone those were my convictions for a while but I got influenced about the technological benefits of a wireless phone.
Why carrying a camera, a recording machine, a mp3, and a lap top (to check my e-mails) when I can get all that and more with a camera phone, as well as with the cell phone accessories. I mean unless you need a professional or high definition picture, a phone is just what you need. For example, to take the picture of an item you wish to show in a store for replacement or in the spur of the moment when you do not have your camera with you.
