The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, or known locally as PA by natives and Northeasterners, is a state located in the Northeastern and Middle Atlantic regions of the United States. Pennsylvania borders Delaware and Maryland to the south, West Virginia to the southwest, Ohio to the west, New York and a water border with Canada to the north, and New Jersey to the east. The state’s most populous city is Philadelphia. Pennsylvania is also known as the Keystone State.

Allentown, Pennsylvania is a city located in Lehigh County. It is Pennsylvania’s third most populous city after Pittsburgh. Located on the Lehigh River, Allentown is the largest of three adjacent cities that make up a region of eastern Pennsylvania and western new Jersey know as the Lehigh Valley, with the cities of Bethlehem and Easton nearby. Two four-year colleges, Cedar Crest College and Muhlenberg College are located in Allentown.
Scranton, Pennsylvania is a city in the northeastern part of the state. Scranton is the geographic and cultural center of the Lackawanna River valley. It is the largest city located in a contiguous quilt work of former anthracite coal mining communities including the smaller cities of Wilkes-Barre, Pittston and Carbondale. Many of Scranton’s attractions celebrate its heritage as an industrial center in iron and coal production as well as its ethnic diversity.
