Pendulum clocks have been around for a very long time. These types of clocks were first invented in the year 1673 by Christiaan Huygens. He was a Dutch scientist who figured out how to make a very reliable pendulum clock. There is some credit due though to Umberto Eco. He was an Italian scientist who also looked into inventing the pendulum type clock. He was actually before Christiaan Huygens because Eco was a medieval philosopher. He was also a writer. However, both of these men are given credit to the idea as well as the invention of the pendulum clock.
Are these types of clocks still around? Of course they are! There are pendulum clocks everywhere still! Many of these types of clocks are considered antiques. Antique pendulum clocks may also be known as grandfather clocks. Some of these are very unique, because most grandfather clocks are not alike. Very few of them are all the same. This also makes the grandfather clocks worth more money as well!
Are modern day clocks made with a pendulum? Though there are still some, most are made with a drum n bass.
Drum and bass clocks are basically the same but without the use of a pendulum. Is one type better than the other? Both types of clocks are good in their own way. One is just an older type than the other, but both types of clock accomplish the same thing. You can find both kinds of clocks in almost any store as well.
