According to world health organization (WHO) pandemics begins when it meets three conditions:
1. appearance of the disease which is new to the population
2. agents communicate a disease to humans causing serious problems
3. these agents can easily be spread among humans
Therefore cancer is not pandemic as it is not contagious but swine flu is. Consequently swine flu emerges to meet these three criteria’s. It is actually a new virus that causes human death and spread in to human body easily.
This disease takes time before the viral strain shows its full impact. And one more thing that theses virus changes over time and that is why the vaccines for this ailment are not very effective.
In the year 1976 there was swine flu disaster. The U.S government started a vaccine program in response to the pandemics. But the vaccines have tested efficiently which caused paralysis to around 500 people. After these pandemics never happened and only one death case came out.
Swine flu symptoms are quite similar to any respiratory infection like fever, coughing, sneezing, general malaise etc. one can only distinguish between other types of and so called swine flu through laboratory test only.
