Palm Springs is a desert city in Riverside County, California, just a little over 100 miles east of Los Angeles. Palm Springs is a year round community with many of its resident’s retirees from various parts of the country. Sheltered by the San Bernandino Mountains to the north, the Santa Rosa Mountains to the south, the San Jacinto Mountains to the west and the Little San Bernandino Mountains to the east, Palm Springs is has a hot, dry climate with well over 300 days per year of sunshine and not much rain annually. Palm Springs winter climate is dry and warm.

If you are looking for sites to see or things to do, Palm Springs has it share of places to check out. The Moorten Botanical Garden and Cactarium is a one acre family owned botanical garden specializing in cacti and other desert plants. There is also the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, the largest rotating aerial tramway in the world. The eight and a half minute ride begins at the Valley Station and passes up North America’s sheerest mountain face at over 8,000 feet above mean sea level. The view is breathtaking. For those with golf in mind, Cimarron Golf Resort, Paradigm Golf Group, and Woodhaven Country Club are popular golf courses in Palm Springs.

There are over 130 hotels and resorts in the Palm Springs area. Hotels in Palm Springs include the Pepper Tree Inn, 7 Springs Inn & Suites and the Movie Colony Hotel. Another hotel in Palm Springs is the Wyndham Hotel. All have excellent accommodations and have price ranges to fit most travelers. Palm Springs vacations are plentiful with so much to see and do, and you can often find vacation rentals in Palm Springs at very reasonable prices. Real estate in Palm Springs is pricey, but with some internet research, you can find a home you like well within your price range.
