Every year, the Academy selects the best movies created that year and hand out awards for them. In 2007, the best movie actor award went to Forest Whitaker, for his interpretation of Ugandan President Idi Amin, in the American film "The Last King of Scotland". This is an amazing honor, because it's not easy to distinguish yourself as a film actor in Hollywood. A face that can almost always be seen at the Oscars is director actor Clint Eastwood. This man is famous for his old Western films, and has now made a name for himself by directing award-winning motion pictures such as Mystic River and Million Dollar Baby. The movie Million Dollar Baby earned a best actress award for Hilary Swank, and a best supporting actor award for Morgan Freeman, who also served as a voice actor, as the narrator of the film.
An Oscar is a very prestigious award, and the title of "Academy Award Winner" will follow an actor for the rest of his or her life.
