The past days speak through today’s old paper!

Have you ever been curious enough to read an old newspaper, a pretty old one, a bunch of thirty years old news paper articles that are already history, that no one but you would really want ever to read, if it is not absolutelly necessary? Congratulations if you have been courious! There you are a sign of your intelligence! It is quite a delightful amount of data, of information from the past that would help you understand the present in many fields... And you can also enjoy the funny old-fashioned ads, remeber old TV stars and so on...

There are some places, usually at big academic or public libraries, where you get to read old newspapers, to use them as if they where just another among all books (certainly, you will have to treat the old news papers properly, since they are too delicate!). There are several scientists, journalists, lawyers, historians, economists and lots of students that visit the libraries in order to consult old paper backgrounds, to gather information about some historic event that was once news topic. And if you get not just one paper, but, lets say, you take one from each day, from a week twenty years ago, also, seven old news papers, you may follow the complete coverage of a news, which gives you a wider sight of what happened then.

There you are a quite interesting task that carry out some specialists, whose intelligence ‘reads’ the past’s news through the today’s interpretation to compose new comprehension, new explanations, new reality proposals that perhaps fit better and with more coherence that the current ones. Dare to propose your own explanations!
