Orson Welles told many that the Martians were coming with his radio show, War of The Worlds!

Some of us can remember & many of us have read about the confusion & panic caused when a Radio Station aired Orson Welles' "War of The Worlds". Many people actually believed that earth was being invaded by Martians & it caused quite a stir! Fortunately the Martians had not arrived!
A well known & accomplished actor, Orson Welles has starred in many great films over the years, some of which are: Citizen Kane, Treasure Island, Chimes at Midnite, Touch of Evil, Moby Dick, Othello, The Third Man, Jane Eyre, & many others!
His family had money & the young Welles traveled to Ireland to begin his career. In 1931 at the Gate Theatre in Dublin, Ireland, Orson Welles made his debut. He was a great success & returned to America where he produced an all black cast of Hamlet, a daring production!
Orson Welles was quite involved in radio programs, thus, creating the famous production of "War of The Worlds".
He was born May 15, 1915 in Kenosha, Wisconsin, & died October 10, 1985. He had been married to acress Rita Hayworth at one time.

Many of us cannot remember the calamity involved around War of The Worlds, but we can remember those great films! Citizen Kane & Moby Dick were outstanding movies as were Treasure Island & many of the other films which starred Orson Welles.

Many say that Orson Welles was a genius & way ahead of his time. He certainly seems to have been quite a character & a great Actor. He left us a lot of memories & his War of The Worlds will live on forever!
