Neutrogena was founded in 1930 by emanuel stolaroff. But the name was not Neutrogena, but Natone. They began by supplying cosmetics to beauty salons. In 1954 Stolaroff fone a Belgian cosmetic chemist Dr. Edmond Fromont, who had developed a new soap that left no residue. The soaps name was Neutragena. He made arrangements to begin marketing the soap in the United States, and that was how Neutrogena began. The major product for Neutrogena was glycerin soap for many years. In 1994 the family owned business was sold to Johnson and Johnson. They then started to invest in other neutrogena skin care products.
Neutrogena is one of the most reknown hand creams and soap labels around. Today neutrogena has expanded its product line and sells many more diverse products as opposed to it's very first hand cream.
