Home moving is a big deal in the life. Just think about there are so many things need to be cleared up, packed, marked, and delivered. Furthermore, finding house is not an easy job. Many details need to be considered, such as the location of the new house, the neighborhood, the safty of the district, job opportunity, the school quality, and the climate, etc. Finding a rental house is much easier than buying a house because there are more factors need to be considered. I still remember my first house which I bought ten years ago when I moved out from the companies house for a job changing. I loved very much my new house which took my all savings. To compare with the all troubles brought by moving house, cleaning house is the easiest part. Cleaning is always my favourate housework. When I doing cleaning, I feel comfortable, relax and satisfied. The feeling is really good when everything is changing to be clean from dirty. However, when I checking and packing my luggage, I often feel frustrated. I cannot decide easily which one should be thrown away or remained. That is the problem.

The area was such a mess. As well as our pet rabbit we also had rats in the garden. I was so ashamed of where I live.

My name is Martine Ratcliffe. I live in a 5-bedorom housing association property in Earl Street, Salford with my three kids (otherwise known as ‘the monsters’). I have lived here for about 7 years but I have lived in Broughton all my life.
I hate this house – it’s been unlucky. It was in such a mess that I tried to decorate it myself and I fell of a ladder. What started as just a small injury has turned into a really big health issue for me.
When I first found out about the plans for building new homes – I was really pleased, I can’t wait to get out of this place. It is a dump.

I’ve been to quite a few meetings with all the partners and the companies seem to be listening to what we say, which is good. Still, we will have to wait and see what happens. My main problem is all the anti social behaviour that goes on around here now. It’s a real problem and I hope it doesn’t follow us to the new place.

Things are starting to feel real now. We’ve been able to go and have a look at the sort of kitchens and bathrooms we can choose from. This is the best bit so far. I feel like it’s really going to happen now.

Contour Housing Group said we can choose our new neighbours. I have asked to stay quite close to mine as they are really good people and I’ve got some good friends. It’s great we can all stay together.

This house is tucked away and so we don’t really have too much trouble with antisocial behaviour. The bad thing about being tucked away is that we are ‘walled in’ back and front and so the house is always dark – even in the summer

The hard thing about moving is just waiting for it to happen. Come on…….

Everything was on hold for ages but now we are hearing that many of our friends and neighbours have got their notice to move. Obviously they can’t move us all at once so it’s been done in different stages. We’re just waiting for ours.

Still waiting. We’ve had a walk around the new streets and they look so nice compared to where we are now. We’ve been in a couple of houses too and everything looks great.

Hello, we are the Hegarty family – Patrick and Gail and our son Callum. We have lived in this house for about 12 years. In our house we are quite tucked away and so we don’t see a lot of problems which is good. But the house has walls at the back and front which blocks out all the sunlight.
When we first heard about the plans for the area our first thought was THANK YOU!

We’ve had lots of information about the plans for the new development which is just across the way from where we live now. Everybody seems keen to keep us up to date with things so we know exactly what is going on.

When we saw the plans for the new house we were pleased because it has a similar layout to the house we’ve got now which is good. Even better it will be nice and bright as we won’t be ‘walled in’.

Choosing a new kitchen and bathroom and getting our new address makes everything seem more real. We are most looking forward to having a nice new kitchen and bathroom (with a shower) and we can’t wait to move.
