When Walt Disney originally arrived in Los Angeles in the early 1920s, he had nothing more than a dream and $40 in his pocket. Walt had always dreamed of a place where children could stay children and where adults could go back to being children.
Today, his dream is alive in the Walt Disney World concept located in many places around the world such as Orlando (Florida), Los Angeles (California), Paris (France), and its newest theme park in Hong Kong (Japan). Little did Walt Disney know that through some of his famous characters children would find a friend and compagnion - someone who would always listen to then and always be cheerful.
Now Micky Mouse even had at one point the Mickey Mouse Club which would air on television every week. The show originally started in the 1950s. It was later revived for a new generation in the 1970s and once more in the 1990s where many young singer were found (Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera were all part of the club).
But what was Micky Mouse to be without partners. Thus came the idea to Walt Disney to create new characters, one in the form of a female mouse who would later become his princess, Minnie Mouse, and a duck with a strange way of talking and one weird patience in the form of Donald Duck.
These characters, along with the many other mores that have been produced by the Walt Disney Studios over the years, have permitted to many generations of kids - and yes, families also - to still believe in the magic created by a man who originally had nothing in his pockets.
It's proof that, as Peter Pan would say, "anything can happen, as long as you believe in your dreams".
So keep believing and keep dreaming!
