A spin off from the Prada fashion house, Miu Miu opened in 1992 and is headed by Miuccia Prada. The name of the collection is taken form Miuccia Prada’s nickname and not to be confused with Miu Nakamura.
Let’s take a look at what Miu Miu offers. First, pricing is really close to Prada pricing, so don’t think you are going to get off with paying less. While the Miu Miu line professes to offer more reasonably pricing, Miu sunglasses for example, are right in line with Prada’s coming in at $120 to $129 US Dollars per pair. Miu shoes are another story altogher. Miu Miu at Saks offers the funky, fun spirited Miu shoe and starts at about $200 US Dollars per pair. But please don’t think that the downside economy is stopping anyone from buying. So okay, they’re not cheaper than Prada, but the line is definitely generated to a younger, working crowd who will spend money to have something different in their closet.
