Have you ever noticed all the business letters or for that matter, all types of letters that are written incorrectly? What has happened to today’s society? All of us should at least know how to write a letter correctly! Writing letters was an essential part of most English classes twenty years ago. I don't know if it's still so important, but learning how to write letters is still very essential in today’s market. It is probably more important than it was twenty years ago because so many more people are writing letters. Of course programs like word have a business letter format, and usually have a cover letter template as well. But sometimes these formats and templates don't exactly meet a person’s actual need. Most high schools and colleges should focus a good deal of time on the proper use of letter writing. In fact the different types of letters should be reviewed. For example, students need to be taught how to write marketing letters, or letters of resignation, and even letters of recommendation. For those people that did not get extensive letter writing courses in school, then companies, or employers should offer some kind of training for employees in this ability. There seem to be so many people who absolutely have no idea as to how to write a decent letter.
