The martial arts astonish those who have not practice them ever before, and wonder much more those that assume these arts as a life path. The mysticism with which the martial artists face their lives is part of the philosophical domain to which belong the power of our body.
Among all martial arts (Karate-do, Taek Won-do, Judo, Kendo, Hapki-do, Haiki-do, Capoeira), the Kung fu is probably the most fantastic and, at the same time, the most mysterious one. At the very first kung fu lessons you will learn that the observation of the defense techniques from different animals has established the fundamentals for the elaboration of one of the most aggressive fight methods – perhaps the most – that human race knows.
Besides of the martial content of these activities, one have to remember that these are sports, disciplines that demand full time dedication in order to reach the levels to compete. Take any kung fu magazine, or any kung fu videos and you will have an idea of what it costs to the sportsmen and sportswomen in terms of time and effort to master and perfect their skills. A life of kung fu training is a hard life that follows on a very precise path, where violence has been left appart, far away from the will of the martial artist. And it is so because, as an art, the kung fu searches peace, beauty and tranquility. That is one of the first things taught in almost all kung fu schools and if it happens that you want to master that art just to become a living lethal weapon, well, you’d probably have to change your mind or leave it to the real artists.
