After having arrived in Jakarta, me and my brother drove to the city of Bandung, which is located south east from the capital city, in west Java.
My brother's friend, a Chinese businessman, let us stay in one of his apartments and we even had his driver at our command. It took me some time to consider this "as normal".
The days in the area of Bandung went by very quickly. We explored the city, got a taste of its horrible traffic, drove to the near by tea plantations and treated ourselves with numerous restaurant visits.
What a start for a holiday! A soft and easy one, as I found out later in Sumatra. Because later there where no fancy restaurants and cafés any more and also the climate wasn't as cool as in Bandung. :o)
