There have been many devastating hurricanes to hit the United States. Just recently, the South suffered tremendously from hurricane Katrina. There has also been hurricane Ivan, hurricane Chris and many more over the centuries! Now more than ever we can better prepare for any upcoming hurricane! The National Hurricane Center has stepped up its' system in order to better alert people of any oncoming hurricanes. You can take a look at the National Hurricane Center web site at www.nhc.noaa.gov. This web site will be able to show you hurricane alerts from hurricane trackers!

With hurricanes, you never know what the afterward hurricane damage will look like. Sometimes, a hurricane will hit very hard and it may take a long tome for a town to recover. Other times, the hurricane may not do too much damage. It all depends on how strong the hurricane is. Some areas of the country are always ready! For instance Miami gets a lot of hurricanes as well as the southern portion of the US. When is hurricane season? That varies too. Usually though, hurricane season is most prominent during the Spring and the Fall!
