hormone
Human hormone are very important for our health. Without hormones many of the functions we take for granted would be impossible. For example, breathing which is very vital for our survival (in fact the average human will die or be brain dead in five minutes without breathing) Perhaps the most well known relationship between hormones and our health is the area of reproductive health. But male or female hormone influence more than just our reproductive health.

In fact they do control our growth. As children hormones will dictate how fast and how we develop. The thyroid hormone which is produced in the thyroid gland, is the most important hormone influencing growth and reproduction .An over production of it can lead gigantism and under production can lead to dwarfism.

Sometimes humans can develop hormone imbalance which leads to severe health problems. Women are especially prone to hormonal balance which can be brought on by stress and other environmental factors. Hormonal imbalance can influence can affect reproductive life and cognitive functions as well leading to poor performance at work and at school.

Hormone imbalance can be corrected with the prescription of bioidentical hormones to correct the imbalance. It must be done by a licensed doctor and should never be bought over the counter.

Hormonal imbalance should not be confused with menopause although they may share similar symptoms but their treatments are quite different. Sometimes though, hormonal imbalance is a precursor to menopause. There are natural treatments available to treat both conditions if one is keen on trying them out.
