Being a healer using natural remedies used to be a very dangerous trade up to the 19 th century. Natural health practitioners and herbalists were prosecuted, burned and called witches. Not only woman but some men as well. Fortunately, some of them hide, survived and passed on to us the knowledge.

Nowadays, alternative medicine is being more accepted in our society. It has been proven that an herbal treatment, has way less side effects than using pharmaceutical drugs. Medications are only an attempt by human to copy the properties of the original plants. That way only, a multi-national can patent the invention and sell it. It is all about profits.

On June 21, in Denmark, during the mid-summer festivals you can still witness buns fire all over the cities in the parks. It reminds us of that old tradition were so many people died for using natural remedies.

Just as for conventional drugs we still need to be educated about home remedies negative and positive effects. Do not forget consulting a health practitioner in case of any physical concerns. A second and third opinion is always better.
