This form of hearing loss can be mild to severe and can lead to total deafness. Unilateral hearing loss is hearing loss that affects basically one ear. People with this condition can usually hear better in one ear than the other. Noise induced hearing loss is generally caused by a loud noise or sound over time or it can happen suddenly. This is why if you are around loud products or machinery you should wear ear plugs. Sudden hearing loss can be caused by a severe injury or other such accident or loudness.
