They do not have to stop what they are doing to go waste time on the long lines pushing a shopping cart or lugging heavy shopping bags around. Grocery food shopping can be tiring and heavy and so is going to the beer store. Online grocery shopping is not and needs just a few minutes to complete. The customers can take their time selecting the best foods and adding them to their list and in this ensure that their family are getting whole foods all the time.
One can foresee this becoming a big business that will spread to other kinds of businesses too. Soon we may just be able to order our knick-knacks from the dollar store in the comfort of our homes. But of course it would still be hard for example to get instructions for your camera at the camera store without going there.
