Fuel combustion provides energy that drives cars and other engine driven machines. Fuel can be electricity or a petroleum product like gasoline or diesel fuel. In these days everybody is worried about the gas price going up because this sends the prices of everything up. When the gas price rose basic services like postal services imposed a fuel surchage and the government always imposes a fuel tax to maintain roads and other transport related services. Diesel fuel is cheaper than petrol(gasoline) but burns dirtier than petrol, which is an issue in the face of global warming concerns. Various planners are already thinking beyond petrol and researching alternative fuel that will be cheaper and less polluting than petroleum products have been. One notable innovation has been the hydrogen fuel cell that that burns hydrogen and oxygen to produce energy to power cars. It is an innovation that may edge out fuel pumps as we know them today and provide more gas mileage for the price but at the moment it is still just an expensive innovation in its early days.
