We’ve all heard of someone being called an enigmatic or cryptic. There are a great many things that could be considered esoteric, such as a cult.

Esoteric astrology is a branch of astrology that focuses on spiritual evolution of people, unlike classical astrology which focuses on personality. Esoteric healing is about making a person whole at every level, not just physical. It is supposed to help to contact your higher purpose or true self and bring harmony with everyday life. People have even formed music and audio equipment to fit this belief.

Yes there are companies out there that specialize in audio equipment for this cult belief. One such company is TEAC Esoteric, a 22 year old company founded in Japan. They are considered an early innovator in magnetic tape recording and data storage. I wonder how long they will stay around with the new compact laser disc age! Companies like this produce and sell specialized esoteric audio equipment for people to listen to their esoteric music. And yes, there is a genre of esoteric music and scary enough, a lot of it.
