Keep an elastoplast handy at home and at work

Elastoplast is actually the name of a brand of bandage made by Beiersdorf .Band aid brand is made by Johnson and Johnson who are into the production of small household consumer goods since the turn of the century. But the name Elastoplast has come to symbolise all similar performing products. Smith and Nephew actually do make similar wound care bandages and even those that are more complex and used in hospitals. Smith and Nephew produce other highly specialised products for wound care like for creams for burn care.

All these products perform the same tasks and are essential components in any medical supplies kit and first aid kits in the house or in the office. A band aid will help cover small cuts and wounds so they are free of dirt and contamination and help to speed up the healing process.

A good first aid kit will contain other kinds of bandages for different kind of accidents. Like a bandage that can be used as an arm sling in case of fractures and also disinfectant swabs for wound care before dressing with bandage. Having a first aid kit that is well equipped in the work place is required by law in some countries like Canada. It is also required that employees know how to use the various products in the first aid kits as well as to offer first aid to the injured.

Johnson and Johnson and the other manufacturers are always improving on the sticky bandage coming up with thinner versions and even liquid bandages.
