Because everyone’s dna is unique it lends itself very well to use in forensic science, or crime scene investigation. A match in dna is a almost always a sure way to get a conviction for any prosecutor. Members of the same family sharing blood have certain similar characteristics in their dna makeup and for this reason we have dna paternity test to determine the paternity of babies. Dna tests can therefore provide us with alot of information. Do you want to check on your ancestors? Then may be you might interested in performing a family tree dna test. This is because members with a blood connection will share certain dna characteristics that will be close. Dna tests are done in a dna extraction lab where blood and other tissue samples are taken. Usually, a simple swipe of the inside cheek cells is enough for most simple tests. An interesting new development in dna technology is the ability to combine the dna from two different beings and come up with a so called genetically modified organism. This technology is known as recombinant dna technology and is already in use with animals and plants in order to produce varieties with certain desired qualities for example, production, beauty, colour and so on. Are we looking to making our super babies soon?
