We've learned from an early age how to disguise our feelings, to protect ourselves most of the time... or to pretend to be someone we are not. You need proof? Just listen to yourself the next time you phone for a job... notice how you unwillingly disguise your voice to impress whoever is at the end of the line. We can't help it... it would seem that Elvis' beautiful devil in disguise lyrics apply to every single one of us these days. We cheat with our look, scheme to get what we're after, and lie about our age. .. the last clearly becoming a universal trend. It's a fact that babyboomers refuse to grow old and the proliferation of beauty products is proof enough... how many lotions to chase down a single wrinkle? In the last ten years or so, the fifty something truly became the master of disguise , for between eye lifter and chin firmer the face we show to the world in no way reflects what we really are. Unfortunately, we tend to enhance our personality in the same fashion, and for every new friend we meet, we find a new disguise . Life has turned into a ongoing role playing game as we mold our face, body and feelings to reflect what we think the others expect from us... but do they? So let each of us be an angel in disguise instead... we must take care of ourselves, stay in shape, but also remember that our eyes, even if they sagged, will always be the mirror of our soul.
