In today's world, there exist so many diseases that some of them are mysterious to us. Here are information on certain diseases.

A cardiovascular disease involves the heart or the blood vessels. This is the number one cause of death among the American population. In fact, it kills more people than cancer. The best ways to avoid cardiovascular diseases is to eat healthy (good fats such as fish, nuts and olive oil), do exercise, to not smoke and to do not eat too much salt.

The Alzheimer's disease is the most common type of dementia. People suffering from it see a progressive cognitive deterioration as well as a declining of daily activities and neuropsychiatric symptoms. There exist drugs to reduce the symptoms or to prevent the disease,but, once a person has it, it cannot be cured.

The inflammatory bowel disease groups all disorders that cause the intestines to go red and swollen. The cause of this disease is unknown and people suffering from it may have abdominal cramps, diarrhea, weight loss and bleeding from the intestines. The two most common diseases are Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis.

Finally, the lyme disease is the most common tick-borne disease in North America. Its symptoms include fever, malaise, fatigue, headache, muscle and joint aches.
