Recipes for diabetes are not only aimed at diabetic people. In fact, these low-carb recipes are usually very healthy and they can help in the prevention of obesity. So, that is why most people should try them out.

The diabetic food pyramid includes six categories. The largest categories are grains, starchy vegetables and beans. On the other hand, the smallest groups are the fats, alcohol and sweets. The diabetic food guide recommends daily 6-11 servings of grains and starches, 3-5 servings of vegetables, 2-4 servings of fruits, 2-3 servings of dairy products and sweet, fats and alcohol should be an occasional treat.

Diabetic dessert recipes are easy to find on the Internet. You can find recipes of puddings, custards, ice creams, fondues, mousses, cakes, rolls, etc. For example, if you want to try a diabetic cake recipe, instead of using sugar, you will see that it is better to use an artifical sweetener like Splenda. It is also possible to subsitute the butter and oil with unsweetened apple sauce in order to cut out the fat.

As one can see, diabetic people and their family are able to enjoy a meal together.
