Dancing has made a great comeback in popularity. Dancing schools and coaches are popping up all over town bolstered in part by the television programs like "Dancing with the Stars". For those not born with a dancing talent they can take dancing lessons or those who think them are good can learn new styles or moves.

Dancing is also being promoted a lot as a way to exercise and lose weight and tone up the body. They are many DVDs being promoted and sold to this end. One is based on the hip hop dance moves and originated in Los Angeles. Hip hop dancing is vigorous and targets the hard to tone areas of the abs and thighs. Belly dancing is also proving to be very popular. This dance style originated in the Middle East and Asia but has truly gone global. Salsa dancing is sensual and romantic and has its origins in Latin American culture.

To make effective progress in dancing classes you will need to get a good pair of dancing shoes. It is important to have good dancing shoes in order to avoid injuries just like in any other sport. And it is important that you are motivated towards achieving your dream whether it is to learn a new dance style or to tone and lose weight. You cannot be shy and expect results.
