I have always wanted to learn how to dance. I love to watch dance movies and dance programs even the exotic dancer seems interesting to me. After all it’s a spectacular exacting dance. I don’t really have any favorite type of dance I can be fascinated by ballroom dancing or sit and stair at young kids when they are showing off their hip hop dance moves. I even sit for hours and watch movies that are about dancing, like the movie shall we dance. I even love the dance costumes they wear. I love dance so much that a few weeks ago I decided to go into San Francisco and look up a dance studio, I thought I might take a salsa dance lessons or something. It took me an hour and a half to drive into the city and get to the dance studio. I walked in and told the receptionist that I was interested in taking a salsa lesson. She was very pleasant but did look at me a little strange and asked me if I would like to watch the class for a little while before making a decision. Of course, I was thrilled with this idea and I agreed. So I went into one of the classes. The first thing that I noticed was that it was a very fast paced dance. It was gorgeous and boy did I want to be there, so I went back to the receptionist and asked her to sign me up. She then asked me if I would like to pay for one class to make sure that I wanted to continue. Of course I wanted to continue, I mean what did she think I had already driven an hour and a half to get there. Of course I was serious, but I said sure anyway. So I went to my first class. I was shown how to move my hips, which by the way have a will of their own and just don’t move and then I was twirled and twirled around the dance floor until I had to stop and run to the restroom. I was white as a sheet and stayed in the restroom for a good 15 minutes. Afterward I walked out of the studio right past the receptionist and didn’t even say goodbye. That was the end of my dance experience. I will continue to be fascinated with dance but I think Ill do it from a chair in the audience.
