It may appear that fashion trends rule our life, determining what we'll wear and what we'll decorate our home with. It's only a fad however, and soon enough most of us will go back to what we really like. Some years back the shower doors invaded our bathrooms, sliding ones, swirling ones, half or full, framed in brass or copper... all of them beautiful, but equally hard to keep clean. It may explain why the traditional curtain appears to make a strong comeback, not only around the bath or shower, but all over the house.
There's no denying that a colorful beaded curtain will add a definite touch of Flower Power Freedom to our home office or library and that a flowery kitchen curtain will soften the look of what is, after all, a working place. In the bedroom, a luscious lace curtain can enhance that touch of romance we all need from time to time.
The comeback is even more perceptible in our bathrooms however. A silky fabric shower curtain will nicely complement the sense of peace we try to achieve with perfumed candles and ambiance lighting. And let's face it, finding the right curved shower curtain rod is a must, once we finally got that spectacular claw foot bathtub we've always wanted.
Beyond modernity, design and fashion trends, surrounding ourselves with lush curtains might be our way to keep in touch with the softer sides of life.
